**About your librarian**

Cathy

My name is Catherine Kyle and I’m the Youth Services Librarian here at the Parma Public Library. You can send me an email with suggestions, questions or book reviews at ckyle@libraryweb.org

Some things to know about me:

1) I have a very cute son who’s name is Jack
2) I have a cat named Weenie (short for Halloween).
3) I have had pet rats and I love them!
4) I love dark chocolate and coffee
5) I actually like reading manga, watching anime and playing DDR
6) My top ten movies (in no order) right now are:

4- Hero
5- Batman (with Michael Keaton)
6- Labyrinth
7- Little Women
8- Duck Soup
9- Shaun of the Dead
10- Whale Rider
*11- Buster Keaton – greatest silent movie actor ever who’s movies were crazy and life was sad

7) My ten favorite books (also in no order) right now are:
1- Young Merlin Trilogy by Jane Yolen
2- This Body by Laurel Doud
3- The Murray Family Books by Madeleine L’Engle
4- Dark is Rising Sequence by Susan Cooper

As you can see I’m partial to fantasy, but I love reading whatever I can get my hands on.

8) Music is a lot harder. I love all kinds of music:
grunge, hard rock, electronic (especially ambient) classical, folk, bluegrass, new wave… the list goes on and on. I really don’t care for Country music, but if forced to I’ll even listen to that.

If you want to know anymore about me, just stop into the library!

  1. Hi Catherine!
My name is Elaine T. Perez. I am a children’s librarian at Patchogue-Medford Library, Patchogue, New York. I was googling family book discussions and came across your library’s website. Both the website and the blog are absolutely great!!!!!!!!! I want to start a book discussion for families in the fall along with food. Would it be possible for you to share what works with your patrons such as time, day of the week and age of children. Thanks for any information you can provide. (Thinking of possibly starting a blog also.)
Have a great day. Elaine 🙂
